Formed by Faith, Strengthened by Love

He grew up deeply rooted in the church, guided by the example of his father, who served faithfully as an Anglican priest. As a youngster, he attended church regularly and served as an altar boy, a role that helped shape his early sense of discipline and devotion. Though his father has since passed on, his mother is still alive, carrying forward the family’s quiet strength and enduring presence.

A Beloved Family Man and Friend

Beyond work, Andy was a devoted family man, a proud “Mama’s Boy,” a lover of sports, cooking, and family gatherings. He especially shone in table tennis, where his competitive spirit came alive. His warmth, humor, and storytelling made him a joy to be around, and he remained deeply connected to his Jamaican roots and friendships. Farewell to a Brother, Batchmate, and Friend

Remembrance
I believe that people enter our lives for different reasons, but whatever the specific reason Coleridge entered the lives of batch 145 of The Mico Teachers’ College, I am convinced that his presence certainly left our lives a little bit richer than they were before. Therefore, it is with great sadness, yet deep gratitude and honor that I pause for a moment to remember the life of my friend, brother, and batchmate, Coleridge Morrison.
Coleridge possessed integrity, humility, kindness, and a quiet strength. In a non-judgmental way, he was the one who usually brought a calm to the storm in any group. This reminds me of the time I used the fitting moniker he acquired in college in his mother’s presence. It was the first time he and I were reconnecting - years after we had all graduated and moved on with our lives. We both were ecstatic at meeting again. As was the custom for those of us who knew him well in college, I referenced him as Coolridge. His mother immediately began to correct my pronunciation of his name, informing me that he was named after a poet…I quickly explained to her that everyone knew what his name was, but the emphasis here was on “Cool.” We all had a good laugh. He was, indeed, one of the coolest of the 145th batch.
Although his physical presence will not be with us anymore, I am certain that great memories of him will undoubtedly live on in the hearts of those who knew him and loved him. May I, at this time, extend my condolences to his family and pray God’s peace and comfort in your lives during the difficult days ahead.
May his soul rest in eternal peace.

A Tribute in Memory of Our Beloved Batchmate “Cool-Ridge”

Image Description

Each life leaves an imprint on the hearts of those it touches. Today, we remember with love and gratitude our dear brother, friend, and batchmate of over forty years. “Cool-Ridge. True to his name, he carried a calm spirit, a gentleman’s grace, and a heart that radiated strength and care.

“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” 2 Timothy 4:7

Cool in spirit, calm in grace, A steady light in time and space. Gentle hands, a noble heart, From us, though gone, never apart.

Like his name, he bore the breeze, With quiet strength that put souls at ease. A man of honor, tried and true, Humble steps, yet heights he knew.

He cared with courage, loved with might, A beacon glowing through the night. Dignified, pleasant, respectful in all, He answered softly the Master’s call.

Through forty years, our bond held fast, A brotherhood too deep to pass. Though Heaven called, and earth must weep, In God’s embrace, his soul shall sleep.

As we bid farewell, let us not dwell in sorrow, but rise in thanksgiving. “Cool-Ridge’s” legacy of humility, dignity, and love will continue to inspire us. May we honor his memory by living with the same gentleness and strength that he so beautifully displayed.

Until that day when we meet again, may his soul rest in perfect peace, and may God’s comfort surround us all

Tribute to Coolridge (Andy) Coolridge, fondly known as Andy, will always be remembered with deep love and gratitude. As a batch mate from Mico Teachers’ College, he carried forward the bonds of friendship with warmth, laughter, and loyalty. For the past 10 years, our weekly Friday gatherings at Morgan’s office on Stirling Road in Florida became a treasured tradition—spaces filled with camaraderie, shared stories, and lasting fellowship. Tribute to Coleridge Coleridge — the prince charmer.?Having grown up with sisters, this came naturally to him.?Once you met Coleridge, you felt like you knew his entire family:?his mom, his dad, his sisters — they were all part of his story. I met Coleridge Morrison as a freshman at Mico Teachers' College in 1981.He was the coolest and the easiest person to talk to. When other seniors students were going around ruthlessly ragging other first year students he would instruct first year students in a very calm manner using his habitual standard English, as a matter of fact I have never heard him speak patois while in college. He was such a decent man. May God strengthen his family in this difficult time. Rest in eternal peace . My co

Coleridge and I met during our time at The Mico, where we became friends. After college we reconnected in New York and cemented our friendship even more. To know Coleridge is to love him. Even keeled, polite, witty, kind... a gentle man. He was a good friend, a special friend, who will be deeply missed. It is with a heavy heart and a deep sense of loss that I express condolences to his immediate family, relatives and friends. May his memory live on in the stories you share, the unfettered intru

So sorry to learn of Coleriidge’s passing. He was a cool, and decent human being, a gentle, and good spirit. Your impact on our batch (145) at the Mico, and on all with whom you can in contact in your journey has been a blessing. Your family, friends, bachmates, and co-workers will be comforted by your legacy of love and care. Walk good Coleridge. Dr Roger Nesbeth

Dr Roger Nesbeth

Coleridge was such a jovial person. I am still remembering the smiles and little chats we had from time to time when we met for English classes at Mico College. I will now join with Tagore in saying " Death is not the extinguishing of a light, but the putting out of a lamp because the dawn has come." Coleridge this is your dawn . Walk good. Goodbyes are the laws of earth. Reunions are tha laws of heaven. Until then. Condolences to the family.

Your life was a blessing, your memory a treasure. Forever in our hearts. Walk Good my brother.

"I’ll always remember the way Coleridge could light up a room with their smile and laughter. No matter what was going on, he had a way of making things feel a little easier. I'm grateful for the moments we shared and the kindness they always showed. He will never be forgotten."Rest in peace my friend “

Our hearts are broken as we mourn the loss of our dear friend and coworker, Coleridge “Papa Cole” Morrison. Cole passed away suddenly from a heart attack, just months away from retirement. He was the kind of man who showed up from everyone whether it was helping a client who couldn’t afford a repair, or being a steady, honest friend we always count on

For the members of batch 145 of the Mico, this calm, calculated and astute gentleman was Cool-ridge Morrison. Yes Coolridge and for most of us, that was deemed his proper name, and how appropriate; Coolridge by name and by nature. He is considered to the only member of the batch who never spoke the Jamaican patois. Coolridge spoke with such calm and grace that you would have to give him your undivided attention when engaging with him. You wouldn't mind because his warmth, smile and demeanor was always welcoming.
One never readily associate Coolridge with the industrial arts department. He just never seemed to fit the portrait of that vocation. Truth is, he mastered his craft and the finesse of his products were indeed a character statements. Humble, calm, cool, calculated, collected and loving....
you could only love him in return.

-Joel Scott

I’m deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Coleridge Morrison of Batch 145, Mico Teachers’ College. It feels like only yesterday we shared that special space at Mico College (now The Mico University College).
He stood tall among us, epitomizing dignity, modesty, and humility, with a calm and serene spirit. Equally remarkable was the bond and camaraderie fostered among us as colleagues in the vocational areas of Industrial Education and Home Economics Education.
Coleridge’s infectious smile, calm demeanor, and gentle spirit endeared him to everyone. May we hold fast to the memories we made with him and find strength and comfort in knowing that his legacy will endure for generations to come.
Rest in peace, my brother — until we meet again.

Nadine Johnson- Leachman

Though your physical journey has ended; your memory and spirit will live on. Reserved, but impactfull you were. Your quiet demeanor spoke volumes. The laughter silenced, and now the memories play on. Sleep on Coolridge.

Shirlet McGhan

In loving memory of Coleridge (Porridge)
Kind and loving he led with quiet strength and unwavering grace.
As batch mates he always took the time to bring us back in line with perfect English without the slightest infusion of patois, whenever we got a bit rowdy.
He commanded respect from his peers and the wider community, not through authority alone, but through the dignity of his character. We shared countless fun -filled moments at the Mico , St. George’s College and the National Stadium.
We had much to laugh about as our friendship deepened.
Though he’s no longer with us in body, his spirit lives on in every lesson, every smile and every heart he touched.
Forever in our hearts, Always in our memory.
Sleep In Peace!

It is with deep sympathy and a profound sense of loss that I extend my condolences to Morrison’s family, his friends, and colleagues. To the members of batch 145-Our beloved batchmate’s spirit intertwines within the fabric of our shared memories, a bond of love that will forever endure. Though he has departed from this world, his presence will always resonate in our hearts. As we reflect on this moment let us cherish the memories of our own batch mates: Dudley Williams, Carl Porter, Noel Mattison, and now Coleridge, along with many others who have gone before us.
We remember their names, their smiles, and the lasting impressions they made on our lives. Let us honor their legacies by carrying forward the invaluable lessons they imparted and the joy they shared with us. We also pray for the families they left behind, hoping they find comfort in knowing their loved ones will always be held in our hearts.
In the words of Revelations 21:4 we are reminded that the Lord will wipe away every tear from our eyes. There will be no more death, mourning, crying, or pain, for the old order of things has passed away. Rest in peace my brother.

-Dalton Harrison-

Saddened to hear about Coleridge’s passing. His quiet but kind spirit and the fun shared during the batch days will not be forgotten. Deepest sympathies to his wife, children, coworkers and other family members.

Lorna Douglas-Downie

Each time someone from my batch transitions, I feel a deep sense of loss and sadness. It always leads me into a period of reflection on how I am spending my own life in this sphere. Having met Coleridge and experienced his honorable display of care and gentlemanly attitude, it is even harder to accept that such a beautiful soul has passed on. His memory is etched deeply in my heart. When I heard that he was ill, I prayed for his healing, but God, in His wisdom, chose instead to release him from
